Staging & Rigging
Bend the Air have teamed up with Trix Circus, our event sponsor, to include their Alta Rig as our competition rig. The Alta is the only fully engineered, designed and manufactured rig available in Australia. It comes tested, tagged and CERTIFIED. This certification allows Bend the Air to set up the rig hassle-free, in any venue. The Alta also has the highest safety ratings of any freestanding rig in Australia. It provides participants with a safe and standardised set up across all competitions, allowing them to do what they do best – excel at aerial arts.
The overall height of the Alta Rig is 7m. Once you have taken into account the rigging and hardware plus matting below the actual available space is 6.37m in total from floor to top connection point.
For more rigging information see our Aerial Addicts competition kits.
The stage for all Aerial Addicts sections will be a 6 x 6m stage and for Acrobatics and Circus sections will be a 10 x 8m stage with 30mm carpeted acrobatics mat flooring. Both theatres (for Brisbane & Newcastle events) will have a backdrop to indicate the back of the stage, but have seating in the round - up to 270 degree viewing on the stage area.
As an additional safety component at Bend The Air competitions, we have teamed up with Absolutely Anything Gymnastics (AAG) to provide custom safety mats designed specifically for our competitions including a round safety mat and carpeted acrobatics flooring.
